This patCAST was recorded in June 2011. The crew had taken an extended break from shows but recorded 2 episodes in June that were left in the vaults, until now. This episode puts a library of 15,000 songs on shuffle and the patCAST team (Patrick Mahan, Dr. Kenny Sheltonov, Kevin Morse, Matt Davis, Tyler Mullins & Taylor “Wafnots” Newman) discuss the random songs that come up.

patCAST on Turntable.FM

Turntable.FM could be the next big thing to happen to music and the internet. It’s still in an early beta mode but I think once it officially launches, it could be huge. Right now you can only connect to it through Facebook and you have to be friends with someone who is already connected (I am!). This website allows you and your friends (or people you don’t know) to play and listen to music together. You can also decide whether the song rocks or if it’s lame. If lame, the song skips and we’re on to the next DJ. You can have up to 5 DJ’s at once. If you’re not DJ’ing, you can just hang out and listen to some tunes. This is a great music discovery tool. I’ve created a patCAST room and would love for you all to come join me! If I’m not in there, start up some tunes without me.

R.I.P. Macho Man + PatMania 2 Update
Macho Sadness: We lost a great one yesterday. If you know me, you know my strange obsession with professional wrestling. I’ve covered several wrestling topics on the PatCast and even named the PatMania episode after WrestleMania. The Macho Man Randy Savage is one of my favorite wrestlers. Not only was he great in the ring but he was also incredible on the mic. I could watch his interviews all day long. He’s a true legend and I can’t believe he’s gone.
Whenever we get around to doing PatMania 2, which has been difficult due to people’s schedules, we will dedicate the episode to the Macho Man. I’ve had difficulty finding the time to do a PatCast lately and that seems to be the same case for my friends who usually participate. I hope to do an episode really soon and hopefully it will be PatMania 2. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, I’ll be using this website to post other stuff which you should be seeing very soon.

The Atlanta Doc 2 Teaser Video
Our weekend was exciting. We said we’d share it with you and you’ll see more footage soon. Until then, check out this teaser video for “The Atlanta Doc 2″.
Why is it called The Atlanta Doc 2? Everytime we take any kind of trip or vacation, we document it. We throw all the footage together and name it after the city we were in. The original Atlanta Documentary (aka The ATL Doc) was filmed in October 2005. We hope this new video will be complete within the next month or so. We will premiere it on PatCast TV.

Who Will Main Event PatMania 2?

PatMania 2, the sequel to PatMania, will air on Memorial Day 2011. PatMania 2 will be an extraordinary event which will showcase a variety of trivia matches. Several matches have been teased so far. Joel Patrick Reynolds, headliner of PatMania, has been looking for revenge on Kevin K. Lewis, his PatMania opponent, ever since he lost to Kevin. During our 50th episode, Joel said that his life had been on a downward spiral since PatMania. He’s looking to bring out his new character Chaplain America at the event. Will Kevin K. Lewis be willing to put his title on the line? Or will it need to be vacated?
Another match that has been rumored is Brian Beise vs. Joey “The Watson” Watson. These two have never met but both have one thing in common. They love Batman. At the original PatMania three years ago, Joey was scheduled to face Robby Ware in a Batman trivia match but Robby couldn’t make it to the event. Joey won by disqualification. Could this dream match happen? Only time will tell.
We will know more about PatMania 2 after this weekend. During our live webcast this Saturday night, we will be making match predictions for WWE’s Wrestlemania 27. The person who gets the most correct will go on to the main event at PatMania 2. What we don’t know is who or what they’ll be up against.
Watch PatCast TV this Saturday at Midnight (technically Sunday Morning) for our live episode!
